1. Lego Fun

.
Get out the lego and make challenges for your child to complete. For example, ask them to build a house or a dog (anything that they are into) then take photos on your phone each day of their accomplishments. Soon you'll have a picture diary of all their lego creations. This one is a great one for keeping them entertained and encourages their imagination and problem solving skills.

2. Jump in Puddles (Yes this is outdoors, but still a great one for at home during lockdown)

.
When it rains during the coming weeks, put on your rain jackets and gumboots and go jump in the puddles with your little one/s. Yes, you too. Do you know how liberating jumping in puddles is? I at 35, had forgotten until we went out the other day and simply lived in the moment, not caring how dirty we got. That's what the washing machine is for after all. Check out the below for the lyrics to "If all the raindrops" - nothing like singing in the rain.

3.  Indoor teddy bowling

.
Who is up for a game of bowling that doesn’t involve a trip out of the house? Have hours of fun with this budget-friendly version.

Play a game of indoor teddy bowling. Set up the teddies, or any toy that can sit upright and position them into a triangle. (Mimic how the bowling pins are set out).
Put a piece of tap on the floor one or two metres (depending on your child's age) in front of the triangle of teddies and then roll a ball into the teddies and count the number that fall over. With your help, this teaches good sportsmanship and how to win and loose gracefully. Play in teams, or one on one.

4. Have an Indoor Scavenger Hunt

.
Play a game of hiding the toys and get your little ones to run around and find them. This can be a fun game where your little ones can race each or try to better their own time. This can also be done with pairs of socks. Hide of the pair and give them the other, having them find the 'lost' sock that you've hidden.

5. Play with building blocks

Encourage you child's imagination to run wild with building different things out of blocks. Check our Nathan Wallis here supporting this little one's self directed place in the Arc Assistant Learning Tower. This is a great one as parents are able to prepare meals at the same time.

The Singing in the Rain Song

If all the raindrops...

If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
So what a rain that would be
Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
If all the raindrops
Were lemon drops and gumdrops
Oh, what a rain that would be
I can get working
Oh, look at that
He, hope he gets everybody
Oh, come on
If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be
Standing outside with my mouth open wide
Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
If all the snowflakes
Were candy bars and milkshakes
Oh, what a snow that would be
Yum, this is more milky
Yeah
If all the raindrops
